Freedom, the sweet 2-year-old German Shepherd mix that Mission Viejo Animal Services (MVAS) rescued nearly a year ago, has been transferred to an animal sanctuary in Texas, where he will enjoy a better life. Unfortunately, no one was interested in adopting Freedom, and we knew it was not fair to him to live in a kennel month after month. At MVAS, we were deeply committed to finding a safe haven where Freedom could truly thrive. Through our connections with other rescues and shelters, we found the perfect sanctuary in Texas where Freedom could run free with other dogs all day, safe and happy. After writing a heartfelt plea on Freedom’s behalf, he was accepted into the sanctuary, and our dedicated volunteers went above and beyond to raise the necessary funds for his transportation to his new home.
We’re thrilled to share that Freedom arrived safely at the sanctuary and is in the process of acclimating to his new surroundings. The sanctuary owners are optimistic he will settle in well and reassured us that Freedom was calm upon his arrival and was already meeting some new canine friends. Unfortunately, it is rare for an animal to be accepted into a sanctuary, as nearly all of them are currently at capacity. Our hearts are filled with joy knowing that Freedom now has the chance to live out the rest of his days in a safe and loving environment.
