At Mission Viejo Animal Services we have the wonderful ability to pull dogs from other shelters. This relieves the stress of over populated shelters and gives the pets we bring more visibilty to potential adopters in our jurisdiction. Chewbacca was among the first pets we brought in at the start of 2025 and staff and volunteers were instantly in love. So much so that a couple of our volunteers decided that he needed to be a part of their family. A couple weeks after settling in Chewbacca himself (with the help of his humans) sent us this great update!
Hi MVAS family,
It’s me—your favorite four-legged friend, Chewbacca! I just wanted to send a quick “pup-date” from my amazing new home with Donavan and Sophie! Check out my adventures in the attachments.
First off, WOW—life here is a dream! I have my own cozy bed (though I prefer theirs), a yard that’s basically a private dog park, and endless belly rubs on demand. I’ve mastered the fine art of “puppy eyes” for extra treats, and let’s just say—I’m eating very well.
Morning walks? Oh, they’re epic. I get to sniff ALL the smells, chase imaginary squirrels, and greet my adoring fans (aka the neighbors). And at night? We cuddle up on the bed while they tell me I’m the best boy ever. Which, let’s be honest, I totally am.
I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone at MVAS who helped me find my perfect match. I hit the jackpot with Donavan and Sophie, and I plan on repaying them with unconditional love, zoomies, and the occasional slobbery kiss.
