Velvet came to Mission Viejo Animal Services in February as a stray after a good Samaritan found her running loose at a nearby school. For a large Cane Corso Velvet was initially shy with new people. But as she learned our staff and volunteers, she quickly came out of her shell. Velvet proved to be an affectionate, loving dog who loves cuddle time and playtime.
When considering adopters for her we were definitely looking for an experienced owner who has had large dogs before as Velvet was one strong pup! And find the perfect adopter we did. Not only did they have previous experience with large dogs, but they also already had a Cane Corso in their home! The adopters even took special care and did several meets with their current dog before taking Velvet home to make sure it was a good match.
And based on the update from the adopter below Velvet, now Thea, is fitting in well with her forever family.
Good afternoon, I was just writing the email as an update on how Velvet (Thea) is doing. She is such a sweat heart and never leaves my side. She does wonderful with my other Cane Corso Zeus. She is the first dog I have ever adopted and I couldn’t have imagined a better fit for our family. Thank you all for all the help and support you have provided along the way.
