Teen Summer Reading Program Volunteering (age 13-17)

Have fun and earn service hours! Students age 13-17 can volunteer in-person to help with all aspects of the library's Summer Reading Program. The annual Summer Reading Program is a community tradition that instills a lifelong love of learning by encouraging children to read and participate in events over the summer.

The 2026 program begins on June 1 and runs through July 31, with 2 and 3 hour volunteer shifts available during regular library hours. Teens interested in welcoming families, explaining the program, enrolling participants, and awarding prizes can sign up now.

Please fill out the Teen Summer Reading Program Volunteer Application to apply. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis with volunteer orientation materials and scheduling options available beginning May 15.
