Bricks 4 Kidz Lego Camps
For ages 6-12, these camps explore the world of motors, gears, machines and more. Three camps are available: Roblocks Adventures, Galaxy Far Away and a full-day camp offered in combination of Skyhawks with sports in the morning and Lego building in the afternoon. Camps are held at the Norman P. Murray Center.
Play-Well TEKnologies LEGO Camps
These camps have kids building and designing using thousands of LEGO. Two camps are available: Minecraft Engineering and Pokémon Engineering. Mincraft Engineering takes place the week of June 29 and Pokémon Engineering takes place the week of July 20 both camps will be at the Norman P. Murray Center.
LEGO Robotics and Robot Building
In this camp for ages 6-12, campers gain knowledge of engineering principles while working with levers, gears, and motors to design amazing motorized vehicle-themed robots. Half-day options are also available: LEGO Robotics and Robot Building. Camp takes place the week of June 22 at the Norman P. Murray Center. The full-day camp is $485; half-day camp is $250.
Inventor’s Workshop and Chess Camp
For ages 5-12, explore how everyday inventions have changed the world and learn chess in this full-day camp. Half-day options are also available: Inventor’s Workshop and Chess Camp. Camp takes place the week of June 15at the Norman P. Murray Center. The full-day camp is $485; half-day camp is $225-$235.
Jr. Crime Scene Detectives
For ages 7-12, become the center of the action as a CSI agent and conduct forensic science experiments. Camp takes place the week of June 22 at the Norman P. Murray Center from 1 to 4 pm. Cost is $205.
UC Master Gardeners of Orange County Expo Plant Giveaway and Sale
Mark your calendar for the UC Master Gardeners of Orange County Expo from 9 am to 1 pm Saturday, April 11 at the Norman P. Murray Center, 24932 Veterans Way. The expo will feature information tables and presentations covering tomatoes, peppers, herbs, California native plants, succulents, houseplants, hydroponics, composting, and bees. This fun, informative and inspiring event will kick your garden into high gear. More than 1,500 beautiful plants will be available, so come early for the best selection. (Cash only).
Five hundred free plants will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last (one plant per family). More than 1,500 plants will be available for purchase, including over 30 varieties of tomatoes and peppers, along with herbs, succulents, houseplants, and native plants. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced gardener, there will be something for everyone to learn and enjoy.
Love Mission Viejo Day on May 16
Love Mission Viejo Day returns on May 16, inviting community members to come together in service and celebration of what makes our City so special. This meaningful day is all about supporting one another, strengthening connections, and giving back to the community we all call home. There are three simple ways to get involved with our senior community:
- Sign up to volunteer to provide one on one basic tech help for seniors.
- Sign up to volunteer to assemble gift bags for our homebound seniors.
- Donate items for gift bags such as books, puzzles, and activity books. Drop off donations at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.
In addition to volunteers, we are also seeking seniors who would benefit from personalized tech assistance. If you are a senior interested in receiving tech help on May 16 between 9 am and noon, call the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center at 949-470-3062 to sign up. Food Drive for senior community
A drop-and-go non-perishable food drive will take place from 10 am to noon on Wednesday, April 22 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.
Hosted by the Senior Leadership Committee, the drive-through, drop-off event will benefit low-and fixed-income seniors who experience food insecurities and use the senior grocery program at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.
The process is quick and easy. Simply place your donation in your trunk, drive up, pop the trunk and volunteers will collect it. You will stay inside your vehicle. Please no glass or expired items.

The City of Mission Viejo is excited to announce that Lifeguard and Community Services Leader positions will be opening soon at our Sierra and Montanoso Recreation Centers. Want to work in a fun environment with a great team while serving your community? If so, these are the positions for you.
We are primarily seeking individuals for year-round positions who can commit to 12 to 19 hours per week.
Whether you're ensuring pool safety as a Lifeguard or creating a welcoming experience at the front desk as a Community Services Leader, you’ll play an important role in serving the community.

JuniorFit Program at the Rec Centers
Students in their Junior Year of high school are eligible for a free membership to the Montanoso and Sierra Recreation and Fitness Centers. Physical activity is a powerful tool to combat stress, anxiety and depression while also boosting self-confidence and a positive outlook. The Recreation Centers are a great place for students to workout, study, and relax after school. To activate your JuniorFit membership, students must bring copy of their student ID or course schedule. A parent must be present when signing up.

Splash into Summer on April 18
The Nadadores and City of Mission Viejo are teaming up to kick off Water Safety Month on Saturday, April 18 at the Marguerite Aquatics Complex, 27474 Casta Del Sol.
The "Splash into Summer" community event is from 1:30 to 3:30 pm with an hour designated at 12:30 pm for the City's ABLE (Activities 4 Better Living Experience) initiative. ABLE participants can arrive an hour early to enjoy modified programming and fun sensory activities.
In addition, families will enjoy recreational swim activities including free swim lessons for kids aged 3 and older; water and lawn inflatables; a water-safety scavenger hunt for kids; music; face painting; and an all-around fun afternoon!
