Pickleball Ladder Social – Luau Theme

Organized Play

Join us at Felipe for our social pickleball play groups. Get a new group of players each week for round-robin matches. Scores won't be tracked in these friendly games, but balls are provided. Up to five players will be assigned to each court for weekly round-robin play. Cost is $15 for members; $55-$65 for Mission Viejo Residents; $75-$90 Non-Residents.

Note: This is not an instructional period but rather skilled matched play. All players should know how to play pickleball before registering, even in lower level programs. Players must know how to serve and score correctly prior to the start of each session.

Players can only register for TWO Adjacent skill Levels.

Levels that offer a range such as 2.5-3.0, 3.0-3.5, 3.5-4.0 are designed for players who are not quite challenged at the lower level but find the upper level too challenging.
- Example: If you are a 3.0 player, you could register for 3.0 Organized Play or 3.0 - 3.5 Organized play if your looking for a challenge. OR
- A 3.0 player could register for 3.0 Organized play, and 2.5-3.0 if they are a newer intermediate level player.
- That same player would not be permitted to register for a non adjacent program level (2.5) or (3.5, or 3.5-4.0).
These guidelines help us keep advanced players from taking spaces away from intermediate players, and intermediate players from registering in levels that are designed for more advanced play.

8-Week Co-Ed Singles Flex League

Looking for Flexible Singles Match Play? Look no further then our Co-Ed singles pickleball flex league. Over the 8-week period, a suggested weekly schedule will be emailed out to players based on registration, allowing for players to arrange matches based on availability at a mutually agreed upon time. Games are first to 11, win by 2, with the best 2/3 games taking the win. Individual scores will be tracked over the 8-week season and prizes will be issued to the winner.

*Please note Non-members are subject to guest fees upon check-in. Matches can take place at Felipe, Sierra, or a mutually agreed upon location.

Evening 10-Week Pickleball Leagues

Individual scores during the season determine the champion in each league division. Prizes include monthly membership, visors, hats, and more. Cost is $50 for members; $200 non-members (if space be available).

Players can only register for ONE LEAGUE due to program popularity.

Please use your DUPR rating as a guideline when registering for league. If you do not have a DUPR rating, please register by your known skill level. League players must earn a minimum of 40 points a night (over 6 games) to stay in their registered league. Players who cannot reach this threshold may be removed and replaced with another player from program waitlists.

If you are unable to register because your desired league level fills up, please waitlist.
Waitlisted players will be contacted when spots open throughout the season and to SUB!

General Information

Drop-in Play

Show up and grab a game, no reservations required. Drop-in play is free for members. Guests and non-members are subject to guest fees. Players are expected to adhere to our code of conduct and have good sportsman like behavior. Players wishing to grab a game must use the paddle holders. Courts are divided by skill level for player enjoyment, so please check the level of the court before playing. Players should know how to serve and score a match before coming to drop-in.

How to Make a Reservation

Non-members can make a same day request by phone should courts be available. Call 949-859-4348 and select option 5 for the Felipe Tennis and Recreation Center, then option 2 for same day court conditions. After 2 pm non-members may inquire about early release for morning courts for the following day.

Members can book courts three-days in advance starting at 7 AM each day. To make a reservation request, email pickleball@cityofmissionviejo.org after 7 am and include the following information:

ALL requests for courts must include at a minimum of the First and Last Name of at least two players playing in your group. If you are requesting two courts for the same time (the maximum allowed), you must have at least two members playing on each court and at least 6 player names included in your request.

The Felipe Tennis and Recreation Center has a NEW PlayMate Pickleball Ball Machine. The new PlayMate Pickleball Ball Machine is commercially rated with everything you’ve wanted:

Dink Shot Capability; Fast Feed Rate; 5-position Direction with Randomization; Durability and Toss Consistency; Remote control; and Variable Electronic Height, Speed, Spin, Feed Rate & Direction

The new machine has a clear reference chart to help you obtain your desired shot selections:

Affordable Pickleball Membership options are available to access the Felipe Tennis and Recreation Center (8 dedicated and 8 joint use courts with lights) and the Sierra Recreation & Fitness Center (4 joint use courts with lights). Membership includes all site amenities at both locations.

Students are introduced to match play concepts, including positioning, scoring, and game strategy, in a supportive and energetic environment. For graduates of Pickleball Stars or those with prior experience. Participants are grouped by age/level.

Base Pickleball Legends: Advanced

Ages 8-16
High-energy training ground for tournaments. Class emphasizes advanced tactics, shot selection, and mental focus through challenging drills and match play. For experienced junior players training competitively or preparing for tournaments.

Youth Organized play

Ages 10-14
Youth Organized play is your social play meet up program for juniors aged 10-14 to come play pickleball with other youth players out on the courts. Players will be paired up to 5 youth per court for rotating games during the timeframe. Parents are encouraged to stay and help with rotations. Balls will be provided and collected after play is over. Each week your player line up changes, allowing you to make new friends and have fun on the courts.
Youth players must know how to serve and score a match to register and participate. There are no formal instructors or coaches teaching how to play pickleball during this program. It is a youth meet-up for recreational play.

BASE: King & Queen of the Court

Ages 8-16
It’s game time! Juniors compete in fast-paced rallies and friendly challenges to become the next King or Queen of the Court. Challengers take turns competing and must win two points in a row to claim the crown! This session delivers nonstop play, strategy, and excitement. Players must be able to rally from the baseline, serve, and return.
