As part of the City’s Business Spotlight program, the City Council on Tuesday recognized Diotima Bakehouse, a popular spot that boasts a cornucopia of delectable Parisian gems.
During the first of two Public Hearings, the Council unanimously voted to approve an update to the Safety Element of the General Plan. The update identifies and addresses various safety issues as required by law such as disaster and emergency preparedness and provides a framework for decision-making and regulatory compliance. The update is organized to be consistent with the other General Plan elements and the City’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan.
In the second Public Hearing, the Council unanimously approved updates as part of a second phase of Objective Design Standards. The first phase was approved in 2023, and the updates include a series of refinements informed by a public workshop and one-on-one meetings as well as ongoing coordination with City staff, stakeholders, developers, and architects.
The evening also included a commendation to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6024 for the post’s continued efforts in the community.
The City Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Meetings are streamed live on the City's website and air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.
