The public can bring broken items to fix on the spot with the help of voluntary fixers during the Repair Cafe OC event from 3:30 to 7:30 pm on Sunday, March 22 in the Sycamore B Room at the Norman P. Murray Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
This initiative promotes repair as an alternative to tossing things away. Bring your broken lamps, bikes with a wobble or jeans with a hole – and repair volunteers will help you fix them.
Volunteers are sought from 3 to 8 pm for the categories: sewing and textiles, computers and tinkers (small appliance). To sign up as a volunteer, fill out this form.
Neighbors with items in need of repair don’t need to pre-register. All items are repaired on a walk-in basis. See the FAQs page to understand the repair process.
