Dogs, like fine wine, only get better with age. Sure, puppies are adorable, but they could drive you crazy with chewing, peeing and other antics. A senior dog – or better yet – a pair of senior dogs will give you all the love without the chaos. Senior dogs may be a little slower, but they are also smarter, calmer, and ready to share a leisurely walk or snuggle on the couch. If you want a mature relationship, check out Abigail and Quinn, two 9-year-old dogs that are ready to love again. Why a pair? Because they are best friends and keep each other company when you are not around and you will get twice the love and kisses.
Their story is a sad one. They once had a loving home and a wonderful dad who took great care of them. However, their owner became ill and had to move to another state to live with his daughter. Sadly, the daughter refused to take the dogs along with him, and they ended up at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center.
“Staff and volunteers love this pair dearly, and they have been waiting patiently for their new home, but it has been a while, and we want them to get adopted soon,” said Animal Services Director Brynn Lavison. “One of the worst parts of the animal sheltering business is seeing seniors being abandoned. You could make a difference in their lives by taking Abigail and Quinn home today.”
Both dogs are sponsored by the center’s nonprofit DAWG as a BOGO, so they will go home with an approved applicant for $20.
