City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 5 p.m. For a list of 2026 meetings, click here.
In addition to MVTV Cox Channel 30, AT&T U-Verse Channel 99, and the City’s digital streaming service, City Council meetings may be attended virtually through Zoom app, website, and associated telephonic dial-in option. All of these options provide the capability to remotely participate in live public comment periods during City Council Meetings. Detailed instructions for participation in comment periods are provided below.
The Zoom webinar will be available for participants to join as attendees 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the City Council Meeting to allow time to get connected, configure and test audio, and become familiar with Zoom functions.

To join the Zoom webinar from your computer or smart device, click the meeting link and use the passcode below. You can join via the Zoom app on your smartphone or tablet, or in a web browser at https://zoom.us/join by entering the Meeting ID and Passcode below.

When requested by the City Clerk, call-in users can unmute and mute their phones by pressing *6 (star-six).
Call-in users can raise their hand by pressing *9 but may not lower their hand once raised.
How to Provide Public Comment via Zoom
- When to Enter the Speaker Queue
- For Non-Agenda Items (General Public Comment): Raise your hand when the Mayor officially opens the General Public Comment period near the beginning of the meeting.
- For Specific Agenda Items: Raise your hand as soon as the Mayor introduces the specific item number, while staff reports or Council discussions are taking place.
- Strict Cutoff: To ensure an orderly meeting, the City Clerk will officially close the virtual queue immediately before the public comment period begins. Hands raised after the queue is closed will not be recognized.
- How to "Raise Your Hand"
- Computer or Smart Device: Click the "Raise Hand" button located at the bottom of your Zoom screen.
- Telephone: Press *9 on your phone keypad.
- When It Is Your Turn to Speak
- The City Clerk will announce your name (or the last 3 digits of your phone number) and tell you to unmute.
- App Users: Click "Unmute" when prompted on your screen.
- Telephone Users: Press *6 on your keypad to open your microphone.
Please begin your comments by clearly stating your name and city of residence for the record. - You will be allowed up to 3 minutes to speak, equivalent to the time given to in-person speakers.
- When your time concludes, your microphone will be automatically muted, and your virtual hand will be lowered. You will remain in the webinar as an attendee to continue observing the meeting.
How to Provide Written Public Comments
To provide written comments pertaining to a City Council Meeting, email your comments to cityclerk@cityofmissionviejo.org by 3 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
